BINDER – FAQs
In conventional counter-current systems, a pump sucks in the water and returns it to the pool at increased pressure. BINDER, on the other hand, relies on high-quality, maintenance-free and watertight turbine technology. The turbine generates an even top and bottom flow and thereby avoids stress points on the head or shoulders. The intensity can be adjusted conveniently using the piezo switch at the pool’s edge or by remote control, even while swimming.
With EasyStar offers you a retrofit counter-current system, which can be installed in just a few steps. Permanent integration into a pool is also possible with HydroStar.
The turbine of both units is driven by an energy-saving 24V DC electric motor, which is permanently cooled by the surrounding pool water. You do not need a dry room or any seals, and a normal 230V connection is sufficient for the power supply.
The turbine swimming systems from BINDER are available in different versions, making them suitable for almost any pool size. They can be integrated permanently into the pool wall or retrofitted using a mounting system. The permanently installed HydroStar version is integrated into the pool wall and requires a total depth of just 515mm.
The EasyStar retrofit system is mounted on the edge of the pool and only protrudes 530mm into the pool.
Due to the unique turbine technology, BINDER counter-current systems take up far less space than conventional counter-current systems and do not require a separate shaft outside the pool.
Depending on the size of your pool, you can choose between our solutions with one or two turbines. This way, you can also enjoy swimming “in your own four walls” without having to turn round constantly.
BINDER counterflow systems are available in eight different power levels – with one or two turbines.
Single-turbine systems: 160m³/h, 215m³/h, 275m³/h & 600m³/h
Twin-turbine systems: 320m³/h, 430m³/h, 550m³/h & 1200m³/h
The flow intensity can be controlled individually by remote control, piezo or app. This means you can adjust the counter-current system of your pool to your specific needs.
The best way to find out which version is the right one for you is to take a free test swim at one of our numerous dealers, without any obligations of course.
The costs for a counter-current system vary depending on the version and installation type. HydroStar is permanently integrated into your pool and EasyStar is available as a retrofit counter-current system. The prices therefore differ from case to case. Our experts are available at any time to provide you with a price without any obligations. Simply contact the sales representative responsible for your area.
You are also welcome to take a test swim in our counter-current systems.
“We provide a 36-month guarantee on our turbine swimming systems. You can of course also rely on our customer service for as long as you have one of our counter-current systems.”
Mathematically, BINDER calculates the flow rate of the counter-current systems by multiplying the flow velocity by the size (area) of the outlet opening. But you don’t have to do that. The special design of our systems ensures they provide a broad, soft and powerful current. In practice, this is the case with a flow velocity of about 3.1 metres per second and an outlet opening with a width of 150 mm, which corresponds to 160 cubic metres per hour.
The cover of the HydroStar is made of high-quality stainless steel as standard, but can also be coated in other colours on request. Experience shows that the stainless steel look fits best into most pool and bathing areas. The EasyStar is supplied in white or grey as standard, but you can also change the colour of the angled section and cover on request.

For optimal installation of our HydroStar counter-current system, the pool should be at least 4.5 m long and 2.5 m wide. For EasyStar, the minimum dimensions are 5 m x 2.5 m. There is no upper limit.
Our turbine-driven counter-current systems can also be integrated into round pools.
Yes, our systems consume 50 to 80 per cent less electricity than conventional systems.
